“YOUTUBE REDNECK PHYSCO BIKE” ~ HOW TO BUILD A THREE-WHEELER BIKE WITH A BAD ASS ENGINE

I am so excited about this project! I have been looking for something different since I am “burnt out” on “CoupeZilla”. So, this is it. And it is going to be Wild as Hell. Please follow the “YOUTUBE REDNECK PHYSCO BIKE” and let me know what you think and what engine I should install in it. Anything is possible with “Hotrod” and his FRIENDS! Please don’t be saying anything like a lawnmower engine. I want something that will require “wheelie bars” and I will be riding it and making videos of the progress and performance. Don’t you just love my COMPASS? Us OLD PEOPLE need this instrument to get back home after “CRUISING”

In this video I demonstrate how to build a bicycle generator from start to finish. I go step by step through the process of building the project from the ground up. I really enjoyed this project and I hope it inspires you to build one also. It is a great prep to have and will keep your battery bank charged up as long as you do your part pedaling the unit. Below is the parts and tools list (As complete as possible). I hope this video is a blessing to you.
Here is a link to the update on the bicycle generator so that the unit can be made portable to transport:

TOOLS LIST:
Safety Glasses
Tape Measure
Work gloves (For hand safety when grinding and cutting the angle iron and metal mounting)
angle grinder or cutoff grinder
multimeter or dc meter
Adjustable wrench, drill, wire strippers
(vice grips only if you have problems with mounting on bike)
String or seamstress tape to measure for belt on wheel and motor.
PARTS LIST:
Bike
DC Voltmeter with no external power supply needed (here is the link to the one I am going to buy or similar)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200884025685&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:en
Electric tape and zip ties
Alligator clips (can be purchased at harbor freight tools)
14 gauge wire about 20 foot should do it I think.
blocking diode for hot side of wire going to battery bank (link below on ebay)
http://www.ebay.com/itm/60A-1000V-BLOCKING-DIODE-WIND-GENERATOR-SOLAR-PANEL-60-AMP-PANELS-TURBINE-STUD-A-/121042731436?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c2eb581ac
no cratch floor sticky pads for furniture(so that the metal frame will not scratch the floor)
3/4 wire loom about 5 to 6 feet of it for wire protection
1/4 wire loom about 5 to 6 feet of it to protect wire leads going to voltmeter
About 14 feet of angle iron or shelving bracket iron for frame build
the belt I used for my mount and motor was a Gates belt part#K040745
Motor was a ICON part#f-174504
I believe that is all the parts needed and if you have any questions just ask or email me at 7trumpetsprepper@gmail.com
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE VIDEO
Frame Notes:
You can use angle iron or shelving brackets for the structure support on the build.
It is easier to use shelving brackets because the holes are pre drilled and easy to line up for 1/4 bolts and fasteners.
The width of the triangle that I ended up with at the bottom was 15 wide.
over all the triangle is 15 to 16 inches tall and 15 wide so that the bike is elevated and has plenty of clearance.
Bolt mounts and inner spacing for bike suspension notes:
The inner spacing I made on the bike was 15 inches that gave a gap of 1 inch space that I could stretch or move the metal to slide the bike in the frame. If you have a wider bike I would add enough space for you to have a 1 inch gap on each side for maintenance.

Oak Cliff Cargo Bicycles: Kickstarter To Design and Build a New Cargo Bicycle Frame from Scratch

Our Mission

To build environmentally-friendly, hand crafted, affordable Dutch style cargo bicycles for the masses made in Oak Cliff, TX

Our Project

We’ve been able to achieve our mission through hard work and putting 100% of our profits back into our company, but the time has come to streamline our manufacturing process, and build a cargo bicycle from scratch using traditional bicycle frame building techniques and methods. Of course, our current recycled frames are built to the highest quality we can achieve using tried and true techniques, however we’d like to offer another line of scratch built frames that will help us to compete in our industry and overcome the manufacturing challenge of using recycled bicycles.

Our Rewards

We’ve partnered with our closest vendors and friends to bring you an exclusive list of rewards. We’re also offering an exclusive version of the new Clyde, Stevie, Bonnie and Bonnie Wagon with the highest end components and our newly designed frames.

Here are some highlights:

Our Company’s Story

The desire to own a custom built Dutch bakfiet is the reason I’m now the co-owner of a small, but growing cargo bicycle manufacturer in all places, Dallas, TX, specifically the neighborhood of Oak Cliff.

I had the idea to bring down a local Portland guy by the name of Tom LaBonty to conduct a two day cargo bicycle building workshop. Tom is now a local, cargo bicycle making legend in the city that owns the right to say they’re the center of what’s happening in cargo bicycles in America. Tom had been featured in a small documentary from Microcosm Publishing, when I first learned about these amazing bicycles. He has a DIY approach to things, and that spoke volumes to us.

After the workshop Brennen went home and built his own from an old wheel barrel and spare bicycles parts by the end of the week. Two weeks later, he’d built his second. That was when I saw him out at a local community event trying to sell it with a little sign that no one could see. I thought, “This guy is talented, but maybe I can help him sell these things!” We then both proceeded to work on a business plan for building them right here in Oak Cliff. It wasn’t long until we got a couple of locals to buy into the concept and placed our first orders. Ever since those early days in late 2012, we’ve been putting everything back into our business to watch it steadily grow. We have further to go, but we stand by our product, the benefits of cargo bicycles, and how much impact we think they can have on transportation and lifestyle issues.

Cargo Bicycles Built Green

It’s not often that companies go to such painstaking measures to reuse and re-purpose parts and materials in their manufacturing production like we do. Our industry is a glutton for producing too much product, and there remains too much bicycle material heading straight to our landfills. We are doing something about it by creating custom cargo bicycles from renewable steel frames, new steel, and the highest quality new and used bicycle components. The relationship we have with our environment is a key component to producing these versatile and reliable bicycles.

Many mountain bikers choose to buy their bikes online. Most major internet retailers package their bikes up in a similar way the Scott’s GT Sanction in this video. That is to say, it should be easy enough to build up, and you won’t need too many tools. Check out the video and let us know how you get on!

Just one minor word of warning, if you’re unsure about anything when you’re building your bike up, head over to a bike shop and get them to build it up. It’s a safety thing.

as an alternative to buying an electra brand rack, which i don’t have the money for right now after buying my electra brand bike, and not having the money or time to build a trailer to haul recyclables, i devised a better plan.

what you’re looking at is a cute little basket that i got at the thrift store for . it closes, it’s D shaped, it’s perfect. I attached it to the bike by removing the rear reflector and using the small plastic piece as a base of sorts. this is not ideal for heavy loads but it works. i have the basket attached to the seat post and the reflector bit with wire, which was then reinforced with bungee cords for stability.

however you attach your basket is not important so long as it is stable. i also have a bandana under the basket to prevent the wicker from scratching the fender paint.

as for the saddle bags, i went to wal mart and got two of these plastic beach bags which were on clearance for each. I slid one handle of each bag under the bungee cord, then got some metal D-link clips to attach the bags to each other over the basket for ultimate strength and stability.

also, i have attached my safety light to the basket, having removed my reflector.

that’s it. total cost of the project:

for wicker basket from thrift store
beach totes x2
.50 D-links x2
